It was in May of 2013 when my sister and I went to our hometown, Legazpi City, for a quick vacation.

Yes, this is a throwback blog post. I was scanning through my photos and I thought I must make a story about our experience in Lignon Hill. With my church friend MJ, we started to climb the beautiful hill at around 2 in the afternoon. The weather was so nice that we did not have to worry bringing an umbrella!

Lingnon Hill (pronounced as Lin-yon) is one of the most famous landmarks in Bicol. It is 156 meter-high, and at the summit is a breathtaking panoramic view of Legazpi City, Daraga, Albay Gulf, and her majesty, the Mayon Volcano! It is really a perfect place for those who want to experience a lot of fun while being close to the beauty of nature.

If you are a sunrise/sunset view lover, this is also the perfect place for you and your camera lenses!

I will share with you some of the beautiful things that I, myself, have witnessed in Lignon Hill.

There is nothing to worry about a much tedious trek! The government has already created a concrete pavement for an easy and a safe climb!

Beautiful flowers and plants are everywhere so your eyes will surely be able to relax. The pulchritude of nature will definitely leave you awe-struck!

Minus my sister, this is what is going to welcome you down the hill.

Just a couple of steps going up, you’ll see a tunnel that was built by the Japanese forces during WWII. This is a 50 foot tunnel; 3 foot high. There are areas inside it where you have to crawl.

I tried it myself. It was scary at first, but my fear was replaced by awe the moment I saw what’s inside the Japanese Tunnel!

I felt tired when I got out of the tunnel, yet it was really a fun experience!

There are other activities that you can do while you are up the hill. There is a zip line there but we were not so brave to try it out. A hanging bridge is also available for those who are not faint-hearted.
